A Dream Deferred

A Dream Deferred

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

By far...One of the most inspirational/motivational poems i have ever read.
I often wonder how there are people in the world who chase their PARENTS
dreams. They go to school, armed forces or etc. because its what they were told to do.
I don't think i know why, or will understand anytime soon.
All I know, is that I will chase a dream anyday.....The burden is too heavy to ignore.
